MyPath Day Options at Minda helps people living with intellectual disability build skills, friendships and confidence through tailored programs across two Adelaide locations.

For many people living with intellectual disability, key life transitions can bring significant changes to daily routines, social connections and opportunities to learn.

MyPath Day Options at Minda can help ease that uncertainty, with programs for people of all ages at our Brighton lifestyle precinct and MyPath North in Golden Grove, Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

While both offer opportunities for skill development, social connection and community participation, each location has its own focus, tailored to individual goals.

At Brighton, participants can explore a broad range of creative, social and lifestyle activities, including pottery, music, cooking, fitness, communication, leisure activities and accessing the community.

These programs are shaped around individual interests and goals, providing opportunities to develop confidence and practical skills while building friendships and connections.

MyPath participant Trevor has been part of the Pottery program for several years, making the drive to North Brighton each Thursday to work on his latest creations.

By having access to specialised equipment and a kiln, he created an artwork that recently featured at the Art on Partridge exhibition as part of the South Australian Living Artists Festival.

“Coming to MyPath is one of the highlights of my week. I get to express myself artistically using great equipment, while also making great friends,” Trevor said. “I’m at my happiest when I’m here.”

At MyPath North in Golden Grove, the focus is on four core pathways: Towards Independence, Towards Work, Social Connections and Living Well.

Participants can develop practical skills such as budgeting, travel planning and online safety, explore employment and volunteering pathways, build social confidence, or stay active and connected.

For participants and families, MyPath Day Options can also provide a meaningful way to use available NDIS funding, connecting funded supports with purposeful activities that align with individual goals.
