Global recruitment leader and HR services firm Randstad has teamed up with Xceptional to provide greater employment opportunities to neurodivergent talent. Xceptional helps businesses get in touch with and employ people who are neurodiverse and this partnership aims to offer opportunities for employment within the Victorian Government.

Other services by Xceptional include autism assessments, workplace training, and coaching and mentoring for individuals on the autism spectrum, along with different neurodivergent conditions.

The two businesses aim to promote disability inclusion in the workplace and support the State Government to deliver on ‘Getting to work,’ the disability employment action plan for 2018 – 2025. The plan is designed to increase representation and create meaningful employment for people with disability across the public sector.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Randstad to bring our services to the Victorian Government and help support the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan,” says Xceptional Chief Growth Officer Aron Mercer.

People living with disability make up around 7.3 percent of the Victorian workforce (aged 15 – 64), according to the State Government.

People with disability make up 7.8 percent of Victorian Public Service employees employed in places like government departments and an estimated 5.1 percent of employees across the broader Victorian public sector.

“This is a great opportunity to extend our reach and provide more support to individuals on the autism spectrum and other neurodivergent conditions. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to contribute their unique skills and perspectives, and this partnership will help us achieve that goal,” he adds.

Randstad’s global reputation, scale and reach will let Xceptional offer its services to a broader audience, including the Victorian Government. Both teams are excited to bolster the workforce and promote greater understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity and disability inclusion.

Madeline Hill, Randstad’s General Manager of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, says that it’s satisfying to help their clients achieve their diversity objectives and that the Victorian Government will benefit from the support.

“We know that a diverse and inclusive workforce is essential for delivering high-quality public services and this will help us create a more inclusive workplace and provide more opportunities for neurodivergent individuals to contribute their skills and talents to the public sector,” says Ms Hill.
