Mental Health

Almost half of Australian adults will experience difficulties with their mental health at some stage during their life. Some mental health conditions can have a long-term effect on your ability to function in everyday activities.

Mental health illness refers to a group of conditions such as schizophrenia, psychosis, anxiety, depression and eating disorders, among others. People living with mental health conditions may also experience poverty, isolation, unemployment, homelessness, poor physical health and discrimination.

It’s important to know not every mental illness is considered a disability but if the effects are long-lasting or permanent then you may receive support through disability funding.
